Lake Superior is the northern border of our Township. Black River Harbor and Little Girls Point both provide boating access, pavilions for picnicing, campsites, and of course sandy beaches for swimming.
Lost Lake is located about 5 miles north of the Township offices. It is the perfect place to take the children swimming for the day. .
Copper Peak is the world's largest manmade ski flying hill in North America. Ride the chairlift to the top and take in the spectacular view. To find out more, visit www.copperpeak.com .

Wolverine Ski Hill is located at the east end of Sunset Road. It provides wonderful cross country skiing and ski jumping in the winter. To find out more, visit www.wolverinenordic.com

The Airport Recreation Park is located on Airport Road, just west of the Gogebic Iron County Airport. It is the home of the Range Strikers Soccer Club and the Gogebic Range Girls Softball.

Survey Results

Township personnel have compiled information from the surveys. Residents have suggested improvements such as: walking/biking trails, skateboard/rollerblading areas, and a bird sanctuary. At the Sunset Road Park, suggestions include playground equipment, improvements to the ball field, bleachers, and picnic areas. Lost Lake improvements include beach improvements, road improvements, stoves, hiking trails, improved parking, boat launch, playground equipment, signage, lighting, and benches. The Airport Recreation Park suggestions include parking, bleachers, bathrooms, playground equipment, pavilion, sand volleyball courts, and lighting. As you can see, there are many needs with limited resources. The Parks and Recreation Committee will determine which needs should be met first and the funding for the improvements.  Some improvements are already in the works like additional parking spaces added at the Airport Recreation Park.
